General Tournament Rules

  1. Tournament Format
  2. Auction-based. Limited overs. One-day championship.
  3. Maharashtra Tennis Cricket Championship U.A.E. is a competitive tennis cricket tournament played on a grass ground in the United Arab Emirates, with teams formed through the official MTCC player auction.
  4. Player Eligibility
  5. MTCC U.A.E. is exclusively for players of Maharashtrian origin.
  6. Every player must meet the eligibility requirements set by the Tournament Committee.
  7. Players may be asked to provide supporting information if required for verification.
  8. No Guest Player category will apply.
  9. Squad Size
  10. Maximum 14 players per team.
  11. No team may have more than 14 registered players in its final tournament squad.
  12. Playing XI
  13. 11 players take the field.
  14. Each team may nominate a maximum of 11 players for a match from its registered squad.
  15. The Playing XI must be confirmed before the match begins.
  16. Player Identification
  17. Valid Emirates ID is compulsory.
  18. Every player must hold a valid Emirates ID.
  19. Tournament officials may request the original Emirates ID at any stage for identity verification.
  20. A player who cannot verify their identity may not be allowed to participate.
  21. CricHeroes Profile
  22. Every player must have a valid CricHeroes profile.
  23. The profile link must be submitted during registration and may be used by the Tournament Committee to review playing history and player information.
  24. Player Registration
  25. Registration gives you an opportunity — not a guaranteed place.
  26. Submitting the registration form and paying the registration fee does not guarantee:
  27. approval for the auction;
  28. selection in the auction; or
  29. selection by a team.
  30. All applications are subject to review by the Tournament Committee.
  31. Auction Selection
  32. Approved players enter the official MTCC auction pool.
  33. Players approved by the Tournament Committee will be made available for selection during the auction.
  34. Team Owners will build their squads using the tournament's virtual auction points/credits.
  35. Auction Points & Player Payment
  36. Auction points are not money.
  37. Auction points/credits are used only for team selection and have no cash value.
  38. Players will not receive:
  39. auction salary;
  40. auction payment;
  41. purchase money; or
  42. financial compensation
  43. for being selected by a team.
  44. This rule does not affect tournament prizes or individual performance awards announced separately by MTCC U.A.E.
  45. Final Squad
  46. Once the auction is complete, your team is your team.
  47. After the auction and final squad confirmation, players cannot switch between teams.
  48. Any exceptional change must receive prior approval from the Tournament Committee.
  49. Reporting Time
  50. Be ready before the scheduled time.
  51. All teams and players must report at the venue within the official reporting time communicated by the organisers.
  52. Teams are expected to be ready for toss and match preparation without causing delays.
  53. Late Arrival
  54. Tournament timings must be respected.
  55. Because MTCC U.A.E. is conducted as a one-day championship, delays can affect the entire tournament schedule.
  56. Depending on the circumstances, late reporting may result in:
  57. loss of toss;
  58. reduction of overs;
  59. match penalty;
  60. walkover; or
  61. another appropriate decision by the Tournament Committee.
  62. Player Conduct
  63. Compete hard. Respect everyone.
  64. MTCC U.A.E. has zero tolerance for serious misconduct.
  65. The following behaviour will not be accepted:
  66. abusive language;
  67. threatening behaviour;
  68. physical confrontation;
  69. fighting;
  70. intentional damage to property;
  71. discrimination;
  72. intimidation; or
  73. deliberate disruption of the tournament.
  74. Respect for Officials
  75. Play the decision. Respect the game.
  76. Players, Captains, Team Owners and team representatives must respect decisions made by:
  77. umpires;
  78. scorers;
  79. match officials; and
  80. tournament officials.
  81. Only the Team Captain should approach an umpire for a genuine match-related clarification.
  82. Disciplinary Action
  83. Misconduct may affect both the player and the team.
  84. Depending on the seriousness of the incident, the Tournament Committee may take action including:
  85. verbal or official warning;
  86. removal from the match;
  87. match suspension;
  88. tournament suspension;
  89. team penalty;
  90. player disqualification; or
  91. team disqualification.
  92. Serious misconduct may result in immediate action without a prior warning.
  93. False Information
  94. All registration information must be genuine.
  95. A player may be immediately disqualified for knowingly providing:
  96. false personal information;
  97. incorrect eligibility details;
  98. false identification;
  99. another person's CricHeroes profile; or
  100. misleading documents.
  101. If an ineligible player participates in a match, the Tournament Committee may also review the result of that match.
  102. Tournament Committee Authority
  103. Not every situation can be written into the rulebook.
  104. Where a situation is not specifically covered by the published rules, the Tournament Committee may interpret the regulations and make a decision in the best interest of:
  105. fairness;
  106. player safety;
  107. tournament schedule;
  108. sporting integrity; and
  109. the spirit of cricket.
  110. Final Decision
  111. The Tournament Committee's tournament-related decision will be final.
  112. All participants agree to respect final decisions relating to:
  113. player eligibility;
  114. tournament administration;
  115. disciplinary matters;
  116. match scheduling; and
  117. circumstances not otherwise covered by the published rules.

Player Eligibility

▾

Players must be of Maharashtrian origin holding a valid Emirates ID and CricHeroes profile.

Qualification

▾

Top 2 teams from each group advance to the knockout stage.

Points System

▾

Win = 2 points, Tie/No Result = 1 point, Loss = 0 points.

Net Run Rate

▾

Net Run Rate used as the first tiebreaker when points are level.

Match Conditions

▾
  1. Matches will be played using an approved tennis cricket ball supplied or authorised by the tournament organisers.
  2. All matches will be played according to the scheduled number of overs communicated for that stage of the tournament.
  3. Each team will field a maximum of 11 players.
  4. The Playing XI must be confirmed before the start of the match.
  5. The toss will take place before the scheduled start time. The winning captain may elect to bat or field.
  6. Teams must be ready to enter the field immediately when instructed by tournament officials.
  7. A wide ball will result in one additional run and an additional delivery.
  8. A no-ball will result in one additional run and an additional delivery. Any additional tournament-specific no-ball condition will be communicated during the official match briefing.
  9. Runs completed by running, boundaries, extras and overthrows will be scored according to the tournament's approved tennis cricket playing conditions.
  10. The umpire's decision on normal match events including wides, no-balls, catches, run-outs, boundaries and dismissals will be treated as final.
  11. Only the team captain should approach the umpire or match official regarding a genuine match-related clarification.
  12. Teams are expected to maintain the required over rate to ensure the tournament schedule remains on time.
  13. Deliberate time wasting may result in a warning, penalty or reduction of available match time.
  14. If a match is delayed because of weather, ground conditions, technical issues or circumstances outside the organisers' control, the Tournament Committee may reduce the number of overs.
  15. Wherever possible, both teams will receive an equal number of overs in a shortened match.
  16. If conditions make continuation unsafe or impossible, the Tournament Committee will determine the match result or revised playing condition based on the situation.
  17. Tournament fixtures and timings must be strictly followed because MTCC U.A.E. is conducted as a one-day tournament.
  18. Any playing condition communicated by the Match Officials before the tournament or match will form part of these rules.

Tie / Super Over

▾

Matches level at the end of overs are decided by a Super Over.

Super Over Details

▾
  1. If a match finishes with both teams on the same score, the result will be decided through a Super Over, where required under the tournament format.
  2. Each team will nominate eligible players from its Playing XI to participate.
  3. The team batting first in the Super Over will be determined according to the tournament match procedure.
  4. Each team will receive one over.
  5. Normal tournament rules regarding wides and no-balls will continue to apply during the Super Over.
  6. The team scoring the higher number of runs in the Super Over will be declared the winner.
  7. If the first Super Over also finishes level, another Super Over may be played until a winner is determined, subject to available time and the decision of the Tournament Committee.
  8. If circumstances such as weather, ground availability or tournament schedule make another Super Over impossible, the Tournament Committee will determine the applicable tie-breaking method.
  9. The decision of the Match Officials and Tournament Committee regarding the Super Over will be final.

Substitutions

  1. Each team's official Playing XI must be declared before the match begins.
  2. A substitute player must be a registered member of the same team's official tournament squad.
  3. A substitute may normally enter the field as a replacement fielder when a Playing XI member is temporarily unable to field.
  4. A normal substitute fielder cannot bat or bowl in place of another player.
  5. A substitute should not act as captain unless specifically permitted by the Match Officials.
  6. If a player suffers a genuine injury or medical issue that prevents further participation, the Tournament Committee and Match Officials may approve a permanent replacement from the team's registered squad where considered necessary.
  7. Tactical replacement of players after the Playing XI has been declared is not permitted unless a separate tournament rule has been officially announced.
  8. No player from another team or outside the registered squad may participate as a substitute.
  9. Any misuse of the substitution rule may result in a penalty or disqualification as determined by the Tournament Committee.

Terms & Conditions

▾

By registering for Maharashtra Tennis Cricket Championship U.A.E., the player confirms and agrees that: MTCC U.A.E. is exclusively for players of Maharashtrian origin, and eligibility may be verified by the Tournament Committee. The AED 25 registration fee is non-refundable. Registration does not guarantee approval for the auction or selection by a team. All information submitted, including Emirates ID and CricHeroes details, must be accurate and genuine. Auction points are virtual tournament credits only and have no cash value. No salary or auction payment is made to players. Once selected and assigned to a team, a player must represent that team unless an exception is approved by the Tournament Committee. Players must follow the official Tournament Rules, Player Eligibility, Auction Rules and Code of Conduct. The Tournament Committee reserves the right to verify eligibility, take disciplinary action and make final tournament-related decisions where required. By submitting the registration form, the player confirms acceptance of these Terms & Conditions and the official MTCC U.A.E. tournament regulations.
